作品制作は自己確認の行為といえる。
アメリカ留学、ブラジルでの生活、南米やアジアへの旅行等、
様々な体験が記憶として蓄積されている。
自分自身と環境との関わりを織機による可能性を追求しながら表現し、
素材上の変化、肌触り感を自分のイメージに加えようと試みている。
経糸を上下させることで色々なイメージを織り出すことができる。
それは 様々な素材や色彩が加わることでさらに豊かになる。
綜絖による織機では、和紙で織った作品に後加工を施して物理的に
変化させることに取り組んで来た。
ジャカード織機では緯糸に伸縮性のある糸を用いて自分が写した写真の
石の材質感と立体的な効果を出すことを求めている。
Making art is a self-identification activity. My memories were built from the
various experiences of studying in the USA, living in Brazil and traveling to
South America and Asia.
I express my relationship to the environment through my explorations of the
possibilities of the loom.
I try to combine tactile and physical qualities in my images.
One can weave many images by raising and lowering warp ends.
They become richer when different materials and colors are combined.
I have developed, on a harness loom, a process which changes the physical aspect
of my works woven with the Japanese paper.
On a Jacquard loom, by putting elastic yarn as one of my wefts,I could get textured
surfaces and 3D effects which resemble the stones I have photographed.
